Infrared Coagulation

If your hemorrhoids are diagnosed as small or medium sized, it can be easily treated with an infrared coagulation hemorrhoids treatment.

This method is also referred to as “photocoagulation” and it is usually done using an intense beam of infrared light to target scar tissues on your anal canal. The only downside to this treatment is that it’s a bit slow-paced.

Only one hemorrhoid can be treated at any one time that this procedure is carried out. You should expect slight pain while this procedure is being done and a “full sensation” on your lower abdomen. Anal bleeding is also normal 7 to 10 days after the infrared coagulation procedure.
